Drive from Saga to Manasarovar

Today drive to Manasarovar via Prayang and Mayum La Pass (5200 m) and arrive at Chu Gompa taking parikrama of Lake Manasarovar by driving. Lunch on the way. These are the highlights of Kailash Mansarovar tour.

Today is the day of a lifetime experience as you will have the first sight of Mt. Kailash and Holy Lake Manasarovar. Take a dip in the Lake

Note: Yatris who wish to hire horses and porters for Mt. Kailash parikrama should confirm with our guide so that he can make necessary arrangements before starting the parikrama.

1st Day of Parikrama to Diraphuk.

Drive to Sersang Valley 8 km and start Kailash Mansarovar Yatra parikrama (Kora) of Kailash on foot. Arrive at Diraphuk.

Yatris who are not going for Mt Kailash Parikrama will stay at Darchen until those people doing Parikrama return back

2nd Day of Parikrama to Zuthulphuk

Today is the toughest and longest day of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. You must wake up and start your journey for the next destination at around 4-5 AM with light food. Right from the beginning till the pass you have to go up hill (at least 4 hours). However in between, there are flat portion of the trail.

After reaching Dolma pass, the trail descends to other side of mountain via Gauri Kunda (also called Parvati Kunda). It is believed that the consort of Lord Shiva, Parvati, takes bath here. The trail further down from here is rocky. So, you need to be very careful while descending. After reaching down to the valley base (other side), the trail becomes wider and flatter. You will walk for another 6 hours or so to reach Zuthulphuk.

3rd Day of Parikrama. Drive to Saga

End parikrama and drive to Darchen. Upon reaching, pick-up other group members and drive to Saga. Cherishing the moments of your completed Kailash Mansarovar Parikrama.

Things to Carry

    Important Information: Guidelines to follow before leaving home for Kaliash Manasarovar Yatra 2025

    1. At the time of booking must submit clear scanned copy of Tour Booking Form duly signed by each traveler / Yatri. The
    form will be shared by Southern Travels executive separately
    2. At the time of booking, submit clear scanned self-attested copies of passport in JPEG format. (please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 06 months from the date of entry into China for yatra).
    3. All Kailash Manasarovar Yatra participants are requested to have medical check-up by doctor and obtain fitness certificate and submit it to us at the time of briefing. Though it is not mandatory, but we advise to do so for your own safety and insurance claim in the event of medical treatment if required, trip cancellation for beyond the reasons beyond your control etc. The template of Medical Fitness Certificate along with the Tour Booking Form.
    4. Please check and make sure that you are carrying all the necessary medicines recommended by your doctor for the trip. Medicines to carry for motion sickness, necessary antibiotics, diarrhea, body aches, fever, vomiting, common cold & personally followed medicines.
    5. Suggestions on things to carry: While driving to Kailash, it will be warm inside the vehicle but very cold outside. Mornings and evenings will be generally cold and warm clothing will be required. Temperature varies from 00 C to - 240 C. Cold wind blows at the speed of 50 to 60 Km per hour at some places. We recommend that you bring the following clothing and accessories with you. Please note – all the items and number of pieces recommended in the list are not mandatory. As such, you may decide the items and pieces as per your choice and need. However, you should not forget to bring warm clothes and rain gear. We are providing wind-proof warm jacket (on returnable condition), backpack and duffle bag.
    o Carry Passport size photograph for Chinese visa & permit applications / Warm Comfortable trekking boots / Good well worn-in walking shoes
    o Wool shirts/ Cotton shirts / Regular underwear and Thermal underwear / Skirts/trousers for women / Trousers/shorts for men / Wind and rain gear with hood
    o Wool hat/mittens/gloves / Sun hat / Wool and cotton socks / Sweaters / Towel / Track suit / Sleeping clothes / Personal first-aid / Toilet kit / Flashlight/torch with extra batteries
    o Camera / Sunglasses / Water bottle/ Swimsuit (for use before and after Tibet trip)/ Plastic bags for reading material, film, cameras, etc. / Sunscreen cream and lip balm
    6. Carry Pooja Samagri / Worship items (optional): Camphor, Samidha (for havan), Kumkum, Wicks dipped in ghee, pooja bell, prayer book, incense sticks, bel patra, rice, moil (red thread), small diya, etc. Pooja Samagri are also available in Nepalgunj and Kathmandu.
    7. Please make sure that you do not leave home without your passport. 
    8. Please bring supplementary food/snacks like dry nuts, dry fruits, biscuits of your choice, chocolates, chewing-gum etc for yourself or friends.
    9. To protect against unforeseen circumstances, we advise you to take a trip cancellation and medical insurance policy in your home country. The policy should also include coverage of transportation cost in the event of helicopter evacuation being required. We regret, such policies are not available in Nepal. Make sure that you bring the copy of insurance documents along
    with you for our record and reference.
    10. Please make sure that you have water bottle, camera, flashlight (torch), light jacket, passport, medicine etc. to put in the backpack provided by us. It will be carried by yourself throughout the tour.
    11. You may change Indian rupees to Nepalese rupees in Nepalgunj, Kathmandu and also at the border. You can check the exchange rate at present is – Indian rupee (INR) 1.00 = Nepalese rupees (NPR) 1.60, Yuan 1.00 = INR 12.00 (approx.). You can also check online as the rate may fluctuate.
    12. As per new rule of Indian Government, one can carry 500.00 rupees notes while travelling to Nepal, but it is limited to INR 25000.00 per person. More than this amount should be in lower denominations. Credit card is acceptable in Nepalgunj and Kathmandu but not elsewhere in Nepal and on Kailash Manasarovar Yatra in Tibet.
    13. Please do NOT miss the briefing. This is very important that you participate in the briefing meeting and ask any question related to your trip. Please confirm the time of briefing with our officials.
    14. We will provide one duffle bag and one backpack to each participant free of cost. So, you do not need to bring these items. Size of the duffle bag is Length 85 Cm; Width 35 Cm; Height 35 Cm, backpack Length 30 Cm; Width 20 Cm; Height 45 CM. We also provide jacket on returnable condition. You may take our duffle and backpack home as a souvenir if you wish.
    15. You may bring suite case, but it is not recommended on the tour. You may store it in the hotel free of cost.
    16. For any help or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our staff.
    17. Jurisdiction: Place of Arbitration and for all claims, disputes of whatsoever nature relating to the tours operated, marketed I coordinated by Southern Travels Pvt. Ltd. the courts in Delhi will have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any differential dispute arising between the company and the customer.

Syabrubesi

Syabrubesi

Syabrubesi is a small village in peace located in the Rasuwa District of Nepal and it is best described as a launching board for treks to Langtang Valley and travelers on their way to Tibet through the Kyirong border. Replete with scenic mountains and rivers, it is probably one of the most serene locations to accommodate. Syabrubesi’s central location, about days trek from Kyanjing Gumpa on the Langtang Valley Trek and less than a week away from the foot of the mountain, makes it an essential provider stop to most trekkers and pilgrims heading out to Mount Kailash.

Kyirong

Diraphuk is a significant stop in the Kailash Kora pilgrimage and it is situated on the northern face of Mount Kailash. As a result of its close location to the north face of the mountain, Diraphuk provides stunning views. Pilgrims rest in this place after a demanding first-day trek from Darchen. A local monastery has guesthouses, and trekkers sleep in them.

In Tibet, Darchen is a small settlement located at the bottom of Nachu La pass near Mount Kailash. It is a traditional starting point for the Kailash Kora pilgrimage, a three-day trek around Mount Kailash. Pilgrims from many countries come here to begin their route. Although the settlement is merely an infrastructure, it comes with spiritual living and accommodation for trekkers.

This area features Zuthulphuk Monastery and radiates calm due to the overall spiritual accomplishment experienced on the completed half of the trek.
